The 4050 Express Motor Yacht is what Cruiser’s marketing execs called a “crossover yacht,” meaning that she offers the upper-deck attributes of an express cruiser and the interior comforts of an aft-cabin motor yacht. In fact, the Cruisers 4050 was an innovative yacht in 2003, and while her top-heavy profile is distracting her belowdecks accommodations are impressive indeed. Built on a fully cored hull, the 4050’s express-style helm and cockpit arrangement keep the captain and passengers in the same general area. A sliding door next to the helm leads down to the salon with its faux leather upholstery, cherry woodwork, and tiered side windows. A fully equipped galley and four-person dinette are to starboard in the salon, and a hatch in the floor provides access to the engine room. The staterooms are huge—larger than one expects in a boat this size. Both contain a queen berth and private head access, and a washer/dryer in the aft stateroom is built into the starboard corner. Note that the forward head is split with the shower and toilet in separate compartments.
