2005 True North 33

The True North 33 represents a breakthrough in sensible design and innovative construction. Based on the premise that boating should simply be more fun, this fast, affordable cruiser requires low maintenance while delivering impressive, dependable performance. Built using the patented SCRIMP system of infusion, the hull and deck are lighter and stronger than conventionally laid-up fiberglass. This is one tough boat. Her sweeping sheerline; proud, plumb bow; low-profile pilothouse; gorgeous tumblehome; and curvaceous, reverse transom all work together in perfect harmony. The True North series was designed by first talking to people who spend a lot of time on their boats. The thing we heard most was "we don't like having to go down below to prepare meals or sit and relax." The True North 33 solves this problem by locating the galley and dining area at deck level, where the water views are best, and the spacious cockpit is just steps away.

Visibility is, of course, most important at the helm, and this boat offers true 360° views from the steering station. You don't have to leave the controls to see behind you when docking, and when underway, the hull's low running angle keeps the bow below your line of sight. Many True North owners have said this is the easiest boat they have ever docked or driven, regardless of size.

Sleeping accommodations and a full-sized head with shower stall are located below. Here, ventilation is important. With opening ports and an oversized, overhead hatch, cool breezes will find their way throughout, making for pleasant evenings on the hook.

Since the deck level is also where all the action is, the galley is convenient to the helmsperson and to passengers in the saloon and cockpit. Kids with wet bathing suits and sandy feet can quench their thirst and appease their appetite without creating a mess down below. For adults, entertaining dockside or underway is so much easier when everything is accessible and close-by.

The engine room is readily accessible from the saloon. The efficient, single diesel engine has plenty of room surrounding it, making everyday service checks and regular maintenance easy.
